Four motorcyclists have been detained by the Lagos Police Command over the alleged murder of a sound engineer, David Imoh.

Imoh was allegedly murdered by the Okada riders after an altercation on May 12, 2022, over an N100 change.

The defendants, Dairus Ayuba, Anthony Chigozie, Susan Moses and Joseph Tella, were arraigned before Justice I. O. Harrison.

They were charged with six counts of conspiracy, murder, attempted murder and grievous harm.

The judge remanded them after their arraignment.

PUNCH Metro had earlier reported that the defendants committed the alleged offences at the NITEL Junction, Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos State.

The Director of Public Prosecutions, Babajide Martins, told the court that the defendants and others still at large conspired to commit the offences.

Martins said the defendants “unlawfully killed one David Imoh, aged 37, by beating him severely and setting him ablaze.”

The prosecutor also told the court that the defendants attempted to murder one Frank Olatunji and Philip Balogun, a keyboardist, by beating them to a pulp.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Following their pleas, the DPP asked the court for a trial date.

The judge remanded them in custody and adjourned the case till October 19, 2022, for commencement of trial.
