The Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps in Benue State, Yakubu Mohammed, has confirmed the death of four persons in a road accident.

Mohammed said the accident occurred on Thursday in Makurdi at 11:48 a.m. at the National Youth Service Corps Orientation Camp, Wannune, in Tarka Local Government Area of the state.

The FRSC Commander added that 15 persons were injured in the accident.

He explained that both the injured and the deceased had been taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital and NKST Hospital, both in Wannune.

In his words; “Only one vehicle was involved, a Toyota Hiace which was conveying 19 people.

Out of the number 18 persons are females and one male adult.

“The cause of the accident is speeding,” Mohammed said.
