A member of the Rivers State House of Assembly representing Tai Constituency, Hon. Matthew Dike has dumped the All Progressive Congress for the People’s Democratic Party in River State.

This was made known in pictures shared on the Twitter handle of Governor Nyesom Wike a few minutes ago.

The lawmaker who was received by Governor Wike said his decision to join the PDP was for the good of his people.

He said,

“After due consultation with my people (the good people of TAI LGA) whom I represent at the Rivers State House of Assembly, they have ask me as a matter of fact to leave the crumbled Apc and return with them to the PDP”

“I therefore joined the good people of TAI LGA to denounce my membership of the APC and return to the umbrella family starting from now.”

Also, the former chairman of Tai LGA, Hon. Okpe Mbakpone also defected to the PDP.  The newly accepted members called on Hon. Barry Mpigi to join them in their new party.

Governor Wike in his remark said,

“Hon Mathew Dike you’re welcome to PDP and thank you for seeing the truth, the light. I don’t think there’s anyone who is not seeing what we’re doing unless the person does not like truth and doesn’t want Rivers State to move forward.”
