FIRST NIGERIAN TO WIN THE MEN’S SINGLES! Sports enthusiasts praise tennis superstar, Aruna Quadri, for defeating French opponent [Photos]

Nigerian table tennis superstar, Aruna Quadri, on Sunday, won the 2018 ITTF Challenge Nigeria Open in Lagos, defeating his French opponent, Anthony Hacherd.
The 30-year-old Quadri, at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, came from a set down to win four sets to three at 13-11, 3-11, 11-8, 7-11, 5-11, 7-11.
After his win, many Nigerians and sports enthusiasts praised him for his brilliant performance on their Twitter pages.

Some shared his photo on their Twitter page and said he made Nigeria proud.
Aruna Quadri became the first Nigerian to win the men’s singles event of the 2018 ITTF Seamaster Challenge Nigeria Open which ended in Lagos on Sunday, August 12, 2018.

Also, reacting to his victory, Aruna disclosed that his fans relentless support at the Molade Okoya Thomas Indoor Sports Hall motivated him and gave him morale to beat his opponent.
“The chants from fans boosted my morale during the match.
“I trained very hard before the tournament to ensure that I didn’t disappoint my fans. It would have been annoying and disappointing if I failed the fans that have come from far and wide to support me during this tournament.
“And you can see their attitude all through the match. They did not relent in their effort to spur me even when I lost points, they kept supporting me and that means a lot to me, he said. “
