Fire guts RCCG primary school in Damaturu

Fire has razed down a School known as The Shalom Nursery and Primary School in Damaturu on Tuesday.

According to PUNCH, It was said that the school was owned by the Redeemed Christian Church  (RCCG).

Mrs. Kemi Bature, the Head Teacher of the school disclosed that no one knew the cause of the fire incident.

She revealed that the school uses a prepaid electrical billing system and they always make sure they switch off the entire electrical system in the school anytime their pupils left the school.

It was gathered that the fire burnt down the primary block of the school, the whole entire block of classrooms were completely burnt to ashes.

Mrs. Bature noted that the fire has destroyed the entire class block, the children’s books, and other records, adding they’ve lost closed to millions.

She added that the fire was noticed by some of the neighbors, who informed a teacher before they reached out to the state firefighting department.

The police explosive detectives had visited the school after the incident, to investigate if there was any item that might have prompted the fire.

Pastor David Ipinmoroti, the Pastor in Charge of the Yobe Province of the RCCG, has said the fire incident is not an ordinary case, stating that due to a strange event that happened in the school recently, the fire incident might have been caused by evil forces, according to him.
