A fire outbreak occurred on Thursday at a multi-storey building housing a Polaris Bank branch on Broad Street, Lagos Island, Lagos State.
According to The Punch, thick smoke was seen billowing from the building as residents, passersby and business operators gathered around the area.
Videos circulating on social media showed the blaze spreading through parts of the structure while emergency responders rushed to the scene.
Firefighters and other emergency personnel were seen making efforts to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings.
The cause of the fire could not be immediately determined as of the time of filing this report.
Authorities have yet to confirm whether there were casualties or the extent of damage caused by the incident.
