FG opens online portal for Covid-19 vaccination

Following the announcement that Nigeria is expecting 3.92m doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday, March 2, from COVAX, Nigerians have been directed to register for COVID-19 vaccination via the portal of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA).

The federal government gave the directive on social media. A tweet shared on the official handle of the Nigerian Government read;

Please visit the website http://nphcda.gov.ng and click on ‘COVID-19 Vaccination e-registration’ to register for #COVID19 vaccination.

 

 

In other news, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has reacted after a Swiss Newspaper issued an apology for referring to her as ‘grandmother’ while reporting that she is the new Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

“This grandmother will be the new Chief of the World Trade Organisation,” the newspaper had written.

This elicited criticisms from all over the world as people questioned why “grandmother” was all she could be qualified as despite her achievements.

Nordwestschweiz has now issued an apology.
