Before submission, Mairiga asked that the profiles must be approved by permanent secretaries while Directors, Human Resources Management of each MDA must endorse the document.

The circular read,

“The Federal Government has commenced the process of digitising its functions and processes to improve the delivery of service.

“To this end, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy established an e-Government Training Centre to support capacity building of the public servants on the use of digital tools and e-Government applications.

“The ministry also plans to develop training and sensitisation programmes to be rolled out across MDAs to ensure seamless implementation of the approved e-Government applications.

“This exercise requires profiling of capacity gaps of public servants in all MDAs.”

Yemi-Esan had in a circular dated June 22, 2020, and titled, ‘Digitisation of files and other records in MDAs,’ directed all MDAs to commence the process of automation of their files and other records as one of the ways to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.
