FG begins distribution of 42,000 MT of grains
The Federal Government has launched the distribution of 42,000 metric tonnes of grains as part of its intervention program to alleviate hardship and stimulate economic recovery across Nigeria.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony held at the Government House in Sokoto, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, highlighted the significance of the grain distribution in mitigating the challenges faced by vulnerable citizens and revitalizing the economy.
Idris emphasized that President Tinubu’s concern for the increasing food prices led to the decision to release 42,000 MT of assorted food commodities from the National Strategic Food Reserve. The distributed grains include sorghum, millet, and maize, along with 60,000 MT of rice through millers.
“The government calls for continued patience and understanding from Nigerians as we push through these difficult times into a season of abundant benefits and truly renewed Hope,” Idris stated.
He reassured citizens that the government remains committed to overcoming these temporary difficulties and ensuring a brighter future for all.
