Fermin signs new Barcelona deal with €400 million clause

Barcelona has announced that young midfielder Fermin Lopez has signed a contract extension with the club, securing his future at the Camp Nou until 2027. 

 

The deal includes a buyout clause set at a staggering €400 million.

 

In an official statement, Barcelona confirmed that Lopez signed his new contract on Tuesday morning with Joan Soler, the manager responsible for youth football, Deco, the club’s sports director, and José Ramón Alexanco, the director of youth football, in attendance.

Lopez, who joined Barcelona from the Real Betis academy at 13, has been making steady progress in his career. Last season, he was loaned out to third-tier Linares, where he scored 12 goals in 37 appearances.

Upon his return to Barcelona, he impressed during pre-season training and was invited to train with the senior team. He made his first-team debut against Villarreal on Sunday in La Liga.
