The management of Federal School of Survey, Oyo State has expressed fear after the corpse a staff of the institution was dumped in a marshy area in a village along Oyo-Iwo road.
The management said the deceased is the second staff who was kidnapped and later found dead at the outskirt of Oyo town. Ths second allegedly died in February.
According to our source, Mrs Racheal Ayanwale left her office at the Federal School of Survey on Thursday, April 11, 2019 after receiving a phone call.
She told her colleagues her attention was needed outside the school gate.
Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Racheal had been engaged in a heated argument with her estranged husband over the custody of one of their children.
The woman called her children to inform them she was going to a prayer mountain on the invite of one of their father’s driver.
However, her colleagues began to worry about her whereabouts when it was discovered she didn’t return to pick her bag.
They closed for the day and left her bag with the security.
The children, after waiting endlessly for their mum contacted her colleagues who told them she had left the office earlier.
The school authority after attempting to reach the husband who denied knowledge of her whereabouts decided to lodge a complaint at a police station but met her husband at the station lodging a complaint that the deceased was threatening her.
After listening to the school’s complaints, the husband who colleagues confirmed called the woman earlier on Thursday was arrested as the prime suspect.
He was still in custody on Sunday when the police Area Command got news that a dead body was found dumped in a marshy area in a village along Oyo-Iwo road. The corpse was later identified as that of the missing Racheal.
The case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department of the Nigeria Police at Iyaganku.
