The Supreme Court of Nigeria has dismissed the appeals filed by Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party respectively, challenging the election of Bola Tinubu as the President of Nigeria.

In a unanimous decision delivered on Thursday, October 26, 2023, the seven-member panel of the Supreme Court held that Atiku and Obi failed to prove their allegations of electoral fraud and irregularities.

The court also held that the FCT does not have a special status in terms of the presidential election, and that Tinubu therefore satisfied the constitutional requirement of scoring 25% of the votes cast in at least two-thirds of the states of the federation and the FCT.
