Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, on Sunday cautioned Nigerians to be wary of patronising COVID–19 vaccines online.

This is just as she described diversion and falsification of medicines and vaccines as one and the same

Adeyeye gave the stern warning in a statement made available to WuzupNigeria and signed by NAFDAC Resident Media Consultant, Sayo Akintola.

While describing the activity as a possible infiltration of fake COVID-19 vaccines, she urged people to refrain from procuring it to avoid falling into the hands of merchants of death.

‘’The public must be on the lookout for these spurious and counterfeit vaccines and other regulated products.

‘’NAFDAC on its part will ensure continuous surveillance on these products and enforce the regulations governing these products in Nigeria’

“Nigerians must be vigilant and expose anyone who might want to divert COVID-19 vaccines donated by international donors for profiteering,” she admonished.

She, therefore, solicited the cooperation of the public, corporate bodies, religious leaders, and traditional rulers in the effort of the Agency to eradicate the menace of drug counterfeiting and substance abuse.
