Eti-Osa launches security outfit ‘Digbolu-Kolu’ to fight cultism, armed robbery

A local security outfit called ‘”Digbolu-Kolu’ has been set up by the Chairman of Eti-Osa East LCDA, Hon. John Campos Ogundare, in collaboration with community leaders to curb cultism, armed robbery in the area.

The official ceremony took place at Akins in Ado-Badore area of the local council on Wednesday 22nd September 2021.

Ogundare disclosed that the establishment of “Digbolu-Kolu” was part of the security and safety measures adopted by his administration.

“The security outfit named “Digbolu-Kolu” is to help in curtailing the activities of cult boys and armed robbers who have been troubling the area.

“Also a security post which will soon be commissioned will house the local security men, so as to enhance their capacity to combat crime and criminalities within the council,” he said.

The Chairman acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the Baales and other community leaders in Ado-Badore area for ensuring this initiative came to life. He further said that the project is the beginning of many other good things to come, as there would be more of this in other wards within the council.

He reiterated that the decongestion of traffic, conducive and hygienic environment and the security of lives and property are the topmost priority of his administration. He therefore said that he would work tirelessly to make sure he delivers on these key areas.

In attendance at the event were the council leaders, the Elejigbo of Langbasa, Oba Abdulhafeez Olakunle Badiru, representatives of the Lekki Estates Residents and Stakeholders Association, market leaders, members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers and other stakeholders.
