American singer and songwriter, Madonna Louise Ciccone has blasted the Instagram management after the photo and video sharing app deleted her sexually suggestive images from its platform.
The 63-year-old celeb had shocked her fans and followers on Thursday when she shared semi-nude photos of herself in lingerie while posing in a number of compromising positions, including images showing her bare breast and fishnet-clad butt.
It would seem the mother of six forgot that Instagram has rules and regulations set in place to avoid such risqué photos as they were subsequently brought down from the app after some hours.
Reacting to the affront, the 'La Isla Bonita' singer, threw caution to the wind again by uploaded the photos back on her page, bit this time with a bit of her modesty covered.
Sharing the photos she said; "I’m reposting photographs Instagram took down without warning or notification….. The reason they gave my management that does not handle my account was that a small portion of my nipple was exposed.
"It is still astounding to me that we live in a culture that allows every inch of a woman’s body to be shown except a nipple. As if that is the only part of a woman’s anatomy that could be sexualized. The nipple that nourishes the baby!’
"Can’t a mans nipple be experienced as erotic ??!! And what about a woman’s ass which is never censored anywhere. Giving thanks that I have managed to maintain my sanity through four decades of censorship…… sexism……ageism and misogyny," she said.
