At least two people have been killed and 10 others wounded in a renewed Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon on Friday, according to the National News Agency (Lebanon), despite an ongoing ceasefire arrangement.

Citing the country’s Health Ministry, the agency reported that the strike hit the town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa, leading to the reported casualties.

The latest incident comes a day after a separate wave of airstrikes across multiple towns in southern Lebanon on Thursday, which reportedly killed at least 29 people, including four members of a single family, and left 42 others injured.

Since March 2, Israel has been conducting an offensive in Lebanon following retaliatory actions by Hezbollah linked to the broader Iran conflict. Lebanese authorities say the campaign has resulted in nearly 2,600 deaths and displaced more than one million people.

A 10-day ceasefire that began on April 17 was later extended to May 17; however, it has reportedly been violated repeatedly through ongoing airstrikes and demolitions in southern Lebanon. An earlier truce agreement had been reached in November 2024.
