England boss Gareth Southgate to lose £225k as FA make widespread pay cuts
The FA have issued a pay cut to their highest earners in light of the coronavirus pandemic causing a ‘immediate and significant financial impact’ through postponement of events
The FA have announced wage cuts to some of the organisation’s highest earners including England manager Gareth Southgate.
English football’s governing body has been forced to take cost-cutting measures in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
Those on the highest wages will be deducted up to 30% of their current salaries, with Southgate set to personally lose out on £225k.
Southgate’s deductions will be taken over the course of the next three months totalling that figure.
The Three Lions boss is on a £3million-per-year salary.
Staff were informed of the cutbacks in a message from chief executive Mark Bullingham on Monday, which was later published on the FA website.
