#EndSARS: Nigerians march against brutality, harassment
Nigerians in several locations in the country came out in droves to call for the scrapping of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, also known as SARS. The move follows a similar call on twitter which has been trending since last week with the hashtag #EndSARS.
Photos from the march in Lagos, Abuja and Ibadan are still circulating online.
Before the rally, Nigerians online and several newspapers have shared stories from SARS brutality victims and eyewitnesses. The stories have attracted the attention of people worldwide, including the middle east based media platform Aljazeera among others.
Meanwhile, some other groups of people have also taken to the streets to rally support for the police squad despite the widespread calls for its scrapping. The #SupportSARS was initiated on Friday by one of the twitter handles operated by the police. The twitter handle shared reasons why support should be given to the squad.
Here are some of the photos from the #EndSARS rally.
