Eight facts about Ondo gov Lucky Aiyedatiwa

Following the demise of Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. SAN, his deputy Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa was sworn in as the new governor of the State.

PUNCH METRO reported that Akeredolu died in Germany after a prolonged battle with prostrate cancer and leukemia.

Below are eight facts about the new governor of Ondo State.

1. Educational Achievement: Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s educational journey began at Saint Peter’s UNA Primary School, Obe-Nla/Obe Adun, culminating in a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom, in 2013.

2. Professional Dexterity: He ventured into teaching and business, eventually founding the Blue Wall Group of Companies in 1996, which encompasses trading, foreign exchange, and travel agency sectors.

3. Political Involvement: Aiyedatiwa entered active politics in 2011, joining the Action Congress of Nigeria and later transitioning to the All Progressives Congress in 2014. His political journey led him to become the APC House of Representative Candidate for Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency in the 2015 General Election.

4. National Recognition: In 2018-2019, President Muhammadu Buhari appointed him as the Federal Commissioner representing Ondo State on the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission.

5. Leadership Roles: He served as the National Public Relations Officer for the Association of Bureau De Change Operators of Nigeria from 2004 to 2010, held the position of Chairman of the South West Zone of ABCON, and contributed significantly to various social and professional bodies.

6. Accolades: Governor Aiyedatiwa was honored with a platinum award by the Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria in September 2021.
