The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested 120 people in Lagos State for allegedly being involved in internet fraud.

The suspects, made up of 95 men and 25 women, were picked up in different parts of Lagos by operatives from the EFCC’s Lagos Zonal Directorate 1.

The commission shared this in a post on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday, May 19, 2025.

According to the EFCC, the arrests were based on strong information and long-term surveillance.

“As part of a well-coordinated raid carried out across Lagos, we arrested 120 suspected internet fraudsters,” the statement said.

“Among the items recovered are 26 expensive cars, several mobile phones, laptop computers, luxury jewellery, and documents that may be linked to cybercrime activities.”

Photos posted by the commission also showed some of the seized cars and other devices, including smartphones and laptops.

The EFCC added that all the suspects are currently under investigation.

“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are completed,” the agency said.

The anti-graft commission has continued to clamp down on cybercrime suspects across the country, urging Nigerians to support the fight against financial crimes.
