Edo: Shaibu resumes duty in new office

Published

Edo State’s Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu, has officially resumed his duties at his new office located at No. 7, Osadebey Avenue in Benin.

A prayer session, attended by prayer warriors, friends, family members, and staff, marked his return to the office. The session was led by Reverend fathers from the Benin Archdiocese.

Shaibu explained that these prayer sessions have been a consistent tradition since he took office as deputy governor.

They serve to express gratitude to God, seek blessings for the new month, and dedicate his new office to God.

This move comes after a recent political disagreement between Shaibu and Governor Godwin Obaseki over the 2024 governorship election. Shaibu had previously sought legal action to prevent his impeachment, which resulted in his eviction from his former office.

Recall that Wuzup Nigeria reported that Shaibu publicly apologized to the governor and asked for forgiveness on September 21.

In response to Shaibu’s apology, Obaseki stated, “As a person of faith, I am under obligation to accept this apology because as they say, to err is human, to forgive is divine.
