Edo APC chieftain escapes from kidnappers
About 24 hours after being abducted by unknown gunmen, the Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Edo State, Godwin Aigbogun, escaped from his kidnappers.
Punch Metro reported that Aigbogun who is the Chairman of the APC in Ugu Ward in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State was abducted on his way from his farm on Monday evening.
However, The PUNCH, on Wednesday reported that Aigbogun has escaped and has since been reunited with his family.
Although the time of escape has not been disclosed, the state Publicity Secretary, Barrister Peter Uwadiae, confirmed the development.
“I can confirm to you that he has escaped from the kidnappers’ den. I don’t know how he did it but I must commend him for his bravery. The APC family in the state is happy about this. He is now with the family,” he added.
