Easter: CAN demands wisdom, fairness from political leaders
The Christian Association of Nigeria has urged political leaders across the country to govern with wisdom, fairness, and a genuine commitment to the common good of Nigerians, in line with the lessons of Easter.
In his Easter message, President of CAN, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, emphasized the importance of embodying the spirit of Easter in daily life and practicing sacrificial love towards one another.
“Easter stands as a timeless reminder of hope, renewal, and redemption. In the midst of our daily challenges and triumphs, let us reflect on the ultimate sacrifice made for humanity and the triumph of light over darkness,” Archbishop Okoh stated.
He highlighted the relevance of Easter’s lessons to Nigerian society, calling for unity and action in the face of uncertainty.
“As leaders, we are charged with the responsibility to bring newness into the system by leading with integrity, compassion, and humility,” Okoh urged.
He emphasized that Easter is not only a time for celebration but also a call to action, urging citizens to stand united, extend friendship to neighbors, and strive for peace and justice in communities.
“As Christians commemorate the resurrection of the Lord, let us renew our dedication to building a nation that reflects positive values,” Okoh concluded, praying for Easter to be a time of reflection, renewal, and rededication to the principles that unite the people.
