Drake breaks Michael Jackson’s billboard record with historic chart run

Canadian rapper, Drake, has set a new Billboard Hot 100 milestone, overtaking Michael Jackson for the highest number of No. 1 songs achieved by a solo male artist.

His latest single, Janice STFU, debuted at the top of the chart after the release of his recent three-album project.

The achievement brings Drake level with Rihanna and Taylor Swift, with each artist now holding 14 Billboard Hot 100 chart-toppers. Only Mariah Carey, who has 19, and The Beatles, with 20, remain ahead in the overall rankings.

Drake also established another record by posting 42 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 in a single week, surpassing the previous benchmark set earlier in 2025 by Morgan Wallen, who recorded 37 entries after previously reaching 36 tracks in one week.

Wallen and Swift currently share the third-highest single-week total, with 32 entries each, achieved in 2025 and 2024 respectively. Drake’s own previous best stood at 27 songs, recorded in 2018.

In the latest chart update, Drake occupies nine positions within the top 10, while Choosin’ Texas by Ella Langley sits at No. 5. The accomplishment pushes his overall career tally to 90 top-10 hits on the Hot 100 chart. He has additionally become the first artist in Billboard history to surpass 400 career entries.

The chart dominance follows the May 15 release of Drake’s three albums — Iceman, Maid of Honour, and Habibti.
