Doing business in Nigeria horrible, says actress Zainab Balogun

Model and television personality, Zainab Balogun-Nwachukwu, has described doing business in Nigeria as ‘horrible’.

Balogun in an Instagram post on Tuesday lamented that regulatory agencies, landlords, and power supply companies frustrate the efforts of business owners trying to make an honest living in the country.

She said; “Doing business in Nigeria is a horrible experience 99% of the time. If it is not a frustrating landlord, it’s subpar facility companies, NEPA deficiencies or fraudulent government agencies who want to punish you for making an honest living.

“You’ll dot all your i’s and t’s but it is not always enough.

Speaking on how her accountant had to resign because of her company’s refusal to pay bribe, she said; “Had an educated accountant resign because we refused to pay a bribe to LIARS. Can you imagine? We broke no law, filling/audit was all up to date, but she was upset at our principles.

Zainab concluded that despite all the challenges, they stillhave to be nice to their customers.

“Then you have to make sure your customers don’t feel the burden. They will be pissed. They won’t always understand. Some will even enjoy your misfortunes, yet you have to do it all with a smile on your face and the best customer service. Salute to the Nigerian entrepreneur”.
