Divorce: Bill, Melinda pledge to sustain Gates Foundation
Despite announcing that they are ending their 27-year old union, both Bill Gates and his wife, Melinda, have resolved to continue working together to sustain the foundation.
The Gates released a joint statement on Monday night explaining that they “no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives.”
Although it is not clear what impact their separation would have on the Gates Foundation, their joint Twitter statement reflects both share the same conviction that the foundation must continue despite their separation.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation was established in 2000 through the merger of the two Gates foundations – William H. Gates Foundation and the Gates Learning Foundation.
It strives to help improve people’s health and give them the chance to lift themselves out of hunger and extreme poverty.
While the couple and business mogul Warren Buffett serve as trustees, the Gates Foundation is led by Mark Suzman, its incumbent Chief Executive Officer.
