Residents of Udu Local Government in Delta State were thrown into mourning in the early hours of Monday as fire outbreak destroyed two separate story buildings with properties worth millions of naira.
It was gathered that the fire, which started from one of the top floors, spread to the other parts thereby rendering all occupants homeless, Daily Post reports.
WuzupNaija gathered that the inferno was caused as a result of high electricity voltage experienced when power was restored in the area.
One of the victims, simply identified as Igho, said, “I lost everything but I thank God for saving my life.”
Igho also appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to come to their aid.
It was reported that firefighters and sympathizers tried their best in battling with the fire but the inferno overwhelmed them.
