National leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Seriake Dickson, on Thursday received the party’s vice-presidential candidate, Rabi’u Kwankwaso, in Abuja.
Dickson disclosed the meeting in a post on his verified X handle, where he praised Kwankwaso for his role in strengthening the party’s structure across the 19 northern states.
According to the former Bayelsa State governor, the party had assigned Kwankwaso the task of coordinating its party-building activities in the North, adding that he had performed excellently despite the limited time available.
He said the former Kano State governor had met the expectations placed on him and expressed the party’s appreciation for his contributions.
Dickson also described Kwankwaso’s intervention as valuable, saying the NDC would consider and implement recommendations from his engagements with the party’s candidates across the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
“This evening, I was pleased to host our running mate and, by the grace of God, the incoming Vice President of Nigeria, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, who visited me with a large delegation comprising our governorship, National Assembly and other stakeholders of the NDC across the northern states.
“I thanked Kwankwaso for the experience, capacity and extensive network he has deployed to this important assignment. I also thanked all the leaders and candidates for the cooperation, support, respect and honour they have given.
“For the past nine months, I have remained fully engaged in building the party, holding meetings with stakeholders across the states, giving confidence and hope to our members, resolving issues and encouraging everyone to work with their state leaders.
“I, therefore, find it particularly gratifying that Kwankwaso has devoted the past two weeks to resolving several issues that would otherwise have come to me. By the grace of God, victory will be ours,” he tweeted.
