Deyemi Okanlawon beats RMD, AY to become Nollywood’s highest-paid actor
Nollywood actor, Deyemi Okanlawon, has beat Richard Mofe-damijo, AY Comedian, Lateef Adedimeji, Osita Iheme and others to been named the highest grossing actor of 2021.
This is the second time Deyemi would bag such a feat in his career.
According to the list compiled by the Nigerian Box Office for 2021, the actor is the highest-paid actor of the year.
Sharing posts of his achievements in an Instagram post on Friday, the movie star said the only sweeter thing, other than being listed as the highest-grossing actor, is earning the position twice and starring in movies with over one billion Naira box office revenue.
“Just like Jim Carrey said… the only thing sweeter than being listed as the highest grossing actor… is being the 2 time highest grossing actor starring in movies with over N1bn in Box Office revenue in 2 yrs!
Deyemi also appreciated God whilst also applauding the producers, directors, writers, management, and his fans.
“But I really can’t take the credit for this… I thank God, thank my producers and directors, writers, my fellow cast and super crew members, my management team and all my amazing fans,” he said.
Osita Iheme emerged as number two while RMD and AY placed second and third.
The rest include Kunle Remi, Lateef Adedimeji, Bovi, Chinedu Ikedieze and Mr Macaroni.
