Delta man kills six-old daughter for money ritual

A man named Sankey Ovemureye allegedly killed his six-year-old daughter, Abigail Stanley, for money rituals.

The tragic incident occurred on June 15th in Uviama New Layout, Agbarho community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

Eyewitness reported that Ovemureye smashed the little girl’s head multiple times against a wall and then escaped.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident in a statement released on Sunday.

He said, “The Divisional Police Officer of Agbarho recovered the corpse of the little child whose head was smashed several times on the wall. The corpse was recovered and deposited at the mortuary. The father, who is the principal suspect, is currently at large.”

Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, has ordered a manhunt for Ovemureye. He assured the public that the suspect would be arrested and brought to justice. “We will ensure the suspect is arrested and justice is served,” CP Olufemi said.

The police are asking anyone with useful information that can help in capturing the suspect to call the Control Room at 0803684974 or report to the nearest police station.
