Delta bloodbath: Police hand over wanted monarch to army

The wanted King of Ewu, Clement Ikolo, who voluntarily surrendered himself, has been handed over to the military by the police.

This development was confirmed by Bright Edafe, the Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Police Command.

King Ikolo, one of the eight individuals declared wanted by the Defence Headquarters in connection with the killing of 17 military personnel in the Okuama community, surrendered himself to the Delta State Police Command on Thursday.

The monarch arrived at the state police command headquarters at approximately 6:41 pm to report himself to Police Commissioner Olufemi Abaniwonda. Before surrendering to the police, King Ikolo spoke to journalists, maintaining his innocence.

Earlier on Thursday, the Defence Headquarters had declared eight individuals, including King Ikolo, wanted for their alleged involvement in the recent killing of 17 military personnel during a peacekeeping mission in Delta State.

The individuals declared wanted alongside King Ikolo are Prof. Ekpekpo Arthur, Andaowei Dennis Bakriri, Akevwru Daniel Omotegbo (also known as Amagben), Akata Malawa.
