Defamation Pastor files N20m lawsuit against chef Dammy



Pastor Adegoke Jeremiah of Spirit Word Global Mission has filed a lawsuit against Nigerian Chef Damilola Adeparusi, popularly known as Chef Dammy, seeking N20 billion in damages over allegations of defamation.

The suit, dated October 23, 2023, is titled “Demand for Retraction for the Libelous Statement on Social Media and Two Widely Read National Dailies and Payment of a Sum of Twenty Million Naira Only (N20,000,000).”

Chef Dammy recently made statements on her Instagram page, expressing concerns about her safety and pointing fingers at her pastor.

In response to her allegations, Pastor Jeremiah has taken legal action to clear his name and reputation.

In Chef Dammy’s Instagram posts on October 19, 2023, she disclosed her fears and mentioned a series of insults, curses, threats, and bullying she had experienced. She also hinted at an upcoming interview in Lagos where she planned to reveal more details about her situation.

In one of her posts, she wrote: “‘By the time we are done with you, you will not be able to stand on your feet again.’ This was from the acclaimed ‘people of God.’ Among many of the countless insults, curses, threats, and bullying.”

The suit filed by Pastor Jeremiah alleges that these statements by Chef Dammy have led to significant damage to his image and reputation, with numerous calls from people around the world inquiring about the allegations made against him.
