Day-old baby’s body found hanging on barbed wire in Niger
The body of a day-old baby girl was found hanging on the barbed wire of the fence of an abandoned building in Minna, Niger State capital.
The corpse of the child was found by residents of Dutsen Kura, a Hausa community of the state.
Ahmad Tukura, the District Head of Dutsen Kura Hausa, who confirmed the incident, said only a heartless person could have carried out such an act.
He said efforts were being made to apprehend the culprit.
“Why couldn’t the mother just put the baby on the ground? Someone would have picked her and taken care of her or she could have been taken to the orphanage. Killing an innocent child like this is unacceptable,” Tukura said.
