Davido advises Kanye West to Join Puma amid Adidas dispute

Nigerian music sensation Davido has thrown his support behind American rapper Kanye West, encouraging him to join sportswear brand Puma amidst West’s recent fallout with Adidas. West accused Adidas of releasing fake Yeezys and sued him for $250 million.

In response to West’s Instagram video detailing the dispute with Adidas, Davido, who is currently partnered with Puma, wrote, “Come to @puma YE.”

Davido has been associated with Puma since December 2021 and released a collection named “We Rise By Lifting Others” in April 2023.

West had previously urged fans to boycott Adidas, claiming they were putting out unauthorized Yeezys and not compensating him. Several celebrities, including rapper Snoop Dogg, expressed support for West’s stance.

West appreciated the backing, stating, “Thank you everybody for supporting me in this fight with Adidas. Thank you Snoop and thank you to all my fans. Your words are making a difference right now.”

Adidas terminated its partnership with Kanye West in October 2022 following his controversial social media posts. West accused Adidas of attempting to “rape” him artistically and claimed they were not paying him for the Yeezy sales.

Adidas plans to sell its remaining Yeezy stock, valued at $300 million, with the proceeds going to charitable causes.
