Nigerian singer, Olumuyiwa Danladi, aka Danny Young, has showered encomium on fellow singer, Waje, over her decision to quit music for other profitable ventures.

WUzupNaija reports that Waje over the weekend announced that she is quitting music because it was no longer reliable enough to sustain her needs.

Reacting to Waje’s announcement, Danny Young took to his Instagram page to describe the singer as a legend with enough talent to remain in the industry for as long as she wants.

He wrote:

“@officialwaje U quit, u no quit, u are a Legend still. Ur Talent no be here and no be today I see things in ur perspective. Bigup”

The singer went further to lambaste those who often equate quitting music to mean the end of the world for an artiste and those he described as cabals in the Nigerian music industry who have made themselves ‘gate men’ of music success and manipulate the system for their own interest.

In the lengthy piece he shared on his IG page, Danny Young wrote;

“Why is everybody saying eya eya as if quitting music or tryin other tins is d end of life. Same way u pple think an artiste is automatically hungry wen they stop releasing songs.. Wrong mentality..

Waje, I encourage u 2 take wateva step u tink is best 4u at this point and turn deaf ears 2d noise of d hypocrites becos if u go broke tryin 2 satisfy dem by dishing out and promoting songs back 2back, na dem go curse u 2moro.

“Music is supposed to be business and wen it is not making business sense or bringing expected profits, it is not profitable.

“Most people don’t know dat it profitable. Most people don’t Know that it requires an average of #10m to make a record (audio/video/promo) and this doesn’t even guarantee you a hit song bcos it stops playing after 3 months as you’ll be expected to drop anoda single thereby going thru dsame process ova again.

“There’s no guarantee dat u wld hav made d initially invested sum within dat period, let alone making profit. D evil forces Dat we don’t see must be benefiting frm d process of shortening the life span of songs. You don’t release a new song in 3 months and they are already askina d stupid question “Where have you been”?

“How many artists can keep up with dis standard.? Na only those who the structure no longer determine their faith dey survive cos dem don over blow. No choice but to jam dem. (Only two artistes) and u know them.

“Now how many of these level of artistes (the two guys) have we made since the last 8 years? None! Those that have the potential of going beyond the limit don’t get the required promotional support.

“I don’t blame the fans, I blame the corrupt system and d people controlling it dat have made themselves gatemen of music success. They manipulated d system 4 their own selfish reasons makin d people believe dat the prerequisite to staying relevant is releasing songs bck 2 bck.

“But the most current American songs we see and listen to are songs dat hav been released since over a year. Na foreign we Dey tolo, dem regulate their own industry. 4naija dem go tel u say d fans determine what they want to listen to but na big scam. Na una Dey determine watin una want make ppl hear.

“Nigerian Artists are ignorant of the powers they can posses if they unite as one but artists hav little or no say in the industry. D industry is being run by cabals who have no creativity or fan but still have d power to frustrate any artist dat is not their favorite, they determine who they give their attention by using their platform to support dem.

“Unity of Nigerian artists will bring stability and sanity to the industry, Only den we can check the excesses of d industry, cabals and criminals who are killing the industry everyday by draining the artists financially and mentally.

“Wia are d artistes dat were hot last year? Wia are d ones dat made hits in 2017? U guys hav made us feel like they aren’t relevant anymore..Now what is the hope of the untapped raw talents in the streets?

“Back then, a talented nobody wth no money could come to Lagos and blow..AirPlay was determined by the quality of d music and merit.. U make ur album drops and u are touring 4d nxt 2yrs. U are bck wth a new song and everybody is happy.

“Dat is d way it should be. 2day, it is about D amount of money In your pocket and d number of asses you can kiss.

“So Waje, if they want u to corn bck so bad, let dem fix d system. If u think say I too talk and u dey wait to treat my 4ckup, My guy, u go wait tire”
