The Amazon MGM Studios on Tuesday has confirmed that several individuals sustained injuries in an accident on the set of a new film featuring Eddie Murphy.

As stated in a statement from Amazon MGM Studios, the incident occurred on April 20 during filming in Atlanta for the upcoming movie The Pickup.

The statement reads, “On April 20, an accident occurred on the set of The Pickup during a rehearsed 2nd unit action sequence. Unfortunately, the sequence did not go as planned, and several crew members were injured. We are still gathering facts on what happened and why, but first and foremost, our thoughts are with those who are recovering.”

Emphasizing the priority of crew and cast well-being, the statement reiterated the commitment to upholding industry safety standards during filming. It affirmed that all safety precautions were reviewed and monitored before and during the shoot.

The incident primarily affected the movie’s second unit, which was responsible for shooting stunts and other hazardous scenes, typically excluding star actors.
