Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, on Monday said any of his staff seeing within or outside the palace without facemask would be retrenched.
The royal father also appealed to people to use facemask as part of preventive measures to contain the spread of the deadly coronavirus.
Oba Akanbi in a statement warned that coronavirus is real and should not be taken with levity and urged residents of Iwo to respect Osun government’s directive on the use of facemask.
“I want to passionately appeal to my subjects to always use facemasks. Coronavirus is airborne. It is not infection to joke with. It is real and it kills. Let’s be proactive by using our facemask regularly and respect precautionary directives from the government”
“My chiefs, princes and staff must wear it to the palace. Any of my staff seeing outside or visiting the palace without facemask will be retrenched. Let’s respect God in the present situation and stay safe,” the statement read.
Commending Osun state government for its proactive steps to prevent further spread of COVID-19, Oba Akanbi equally prayed for timely divine intervention to rescue the world from the disease.
