Covid-19 test not requirement for students’ resumption – FG

The Federal Ministry of Education has said that no COVID-19 test is required for returning students to be admitted into their schools.
Recall that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government had ordered the reopening of schools across the country amid rising cases of COVID-19, while the Ministry of Education had promised to monitor compliance to COVID-19 protocols.
However, the spokesperson of the ministry and Director, Press and Public Relations, Mr Ben Goong on Monday told newsmen in Abuja that only temperature checks should be carried out on students and any other person crossing any school gate as schools resume.
He also urged school authorities to desist from asking students or parents to undergo the coronavirus test before they are allowed into the school.
“We like to note that only temperature checks are to be carried out on students and any other person entering any school premises as schools resume for the academic session.
”School authorities should, therefore, desist from asking students or parents to undergo COVID-19 test before they are accepted in their schools,” he said.
