The Gombe State Police Command has confirmed the killing of a 15-year-old girl, Aisha Abubakar, whose body was discovered in a bush on the outskirts of Kwami Local Government Area.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, on Tuesday, the victim’s father, Malam Abubakar, reported that his daughter was sent to buy soya beans on Sunday evening but never returned home.
“She was sent to buy soya beans on 26/01/2026 at about 1740hrs and did not return back home,” the statement read.
Her lifeless body was found in a bush on Tuesday. Police detectives visited the scene, photographed the area, and noted preliminary signs of violence on the victim.
“Preliminary observation showed signs of violence,” DSP Abdullahi stated.
The corpse has been evacuated to a hospital for autopsy to ascertain the exact cause of death. The police assured the public that an investigation has commenced to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
“Investigation has commenced, adding that efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend those responsible for the crime,” the statement concluded.
