The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has reassured troops across the country of imminent improvements in their operational capacity through the provision of additional combat enablers and enhanced infrastructural amenities.
During his visit to the 4 Special Forces Command of the Nigerian Army in Doma, Nasarawa State, Lagbaja emphasized the significance of these enhancements in elevating the troops’ performance.
In a statement released on Thursday by Brig. Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director, Army Public Relations, Lagbaja urged the troops to maintain professionalism while carrying out their constitutional duties.
“The COAS, who toured facilities at the Nigerian Army Barracks Doma, assured troops of the effort of the Federal Government and the Army High Command to improve infrastructural amenities and provide combat enablers for the optimal performance of their roles,” the statement read.
Lt. Gen. Lagbaja expressed commendation for the troops’ resilience and selflessness in serving the nation, urging them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism in their statutory duties.
He further encouraged the troops to remain disciplined and give their best in the service to their fatherland.
On the issue of insecurity in Benue State, Brig. Onyema Nwachukwu added, “In another development, while on a courtesy visit to the Governor, Reverend Father (Dr) Hyacinth Alia, the COAS expressed the commitment of Nigerian Army troops in decisively tackling security challenges experienced in some parts of Benue and contiguous states.”
