China on Monday successfully launched the Tianzhou-10 cargo spacecraft to transport supplies and equipment to the Tiangong Space Station currently orbiting Earth, according to state media reports.
The China Manned Space Agency confirmed that the spacecraft lifted off aboard a Long March-7 carrier rocket from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site located on Hainan Island, the Xinhua News Agency reported.
Officials stated that the launch was successful, with the spacecraft entering its designated orbit as planned. The mission also marked the 641st flight operation conducted using China’s Long March rocket series.
Tianzhou-10 is carrying vital supplies, fuel, and scientific experiment materials intended to support the taikonaut crew presently aboard the Tiangong Space Station.
China’s Tiangong Space Station operates with rotating teams of three taikonauts. Crew members are transported to the orbital station using Shenzhou spacecraft, while cargo and logistical supplies are delivered through Tianzhou missions.
