Chelsea Green has offered fans a glimpse into her current condition as she continues to recover from an injury ahead of this week’s edition of WWE SmackDown.

The Interim WWE Women’s Champion posted a selfie on her Instagram Stories that showed the injury around her orbital bone.

Despite the setback, Green expressed optimism about returning to action soon, writing, “fingers crossed for a quick comeback.”

Green sustained the injury during a tag team bout on the August 7 episode of SmackDown.

She joined forces with Tiffany Stratton to take on Fatal Influence, with the incident occurring when Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley delivered their Rolling Encore finishing maneuver to Green.

Reid came down on Green’s head while executing the move, with the landing reportedly raising concerns backstage over the severity of the injury.

The setback occurred only a few days after Green became the Interim WWE Women’s Champion at SummerSlam 2026 (Night Two). She secured the championship in a Fatal Five-Way Ladder Match, while lineal champion Rhea Ripley remains out of action following surgery for a torn meniscus.

Green also recently appeared on “The Nikki and Brie Show,” where she discussed the dramatic conclusion of the ladder match. During the conversation, she revealed that Bayley had noticed how quickly she made her way up the ladder. She said,

“Bailey texted me the other day and said, ‘Girl, I’ve never seen someone climb a ladder so fast.’”

“Part of me in that moment was like, if I don’t get up there and climb that ladder and grab that title down, they could change the finish. Anything could happen.”
