Burna Boy’s Grammys performance ranks sixth by US Billboard
Burna Boy’s performance at the 66th Grammy Awards has earned him the #6 spot in the night’s rankings by US Billboard.
Making his debut on the Grammy stage, Burna Boy showcased his musical prowess, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
Burna Boy kicked off the show with “On Form” before transitioning seamlessly into “City Boys,” accompanied by his entourage.
The energetic and captivating performance reached its peak when Burna Boy escorted Brandy, a 12-time Grammy nominee, to the main stage for their collaboration on “Sittin’ on Top of the World.”
The song features a sample from Brandy’s 1998 hit “Top of the World” and includes the participation of 11-time Grammy nominee 21 Savage.
The performance ranked sixth in the US Billboard ratings alongside Joni Mitchel, Tracy Chapman, SZA, and Miley Cyrus.
Burna Boy was nominated for four Grammy Awards, including Best African Music Performance for “City Boys,” Best Global Music Album for “I Told Them…,” Best Global Music Performance for “Alone,” and Best Melodic Rap Performance for “Sittin’ on Top of the World” featuring 21 Savage. Notably, this year marked the first time the Grammy for Best African Music Performance was awarded, with Tyla winning for “Water.”
Burna Boy, a 10-time Grammy nominee, clinched his first Grammy Award in 2021 for Best Global Music Album with his fifth studio album, “Twice as Tall.”
