Burna Boy kickstarts 2019 with new single ‘Dangote’
After an amazing 2018 which could be described as the best year yet for his career, Nigerian Afrofusion singer, Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy dropped another hit titled, “Dangote”, his first official song for the year 2019.
Produced by talented producer Kel P, his now frequent collaborator, the new single makes references to Aliku Dangote, Africa’s richest man and 64th most richest man in the world.
There could be no better time to share the new song than now, dropping a day after Dangote was announced 64th richest man in the world.
In “Dangote”, Burna emphasized the need to continue to put in more work to remain relevant.
“Dangote” is a mid-Afro-beat tune and follows similar template to some of his past records which is highly influenced by Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s ‘Palaver’.
The “Ye” crooner who carted home several well-deserved awards in 2018 seems to be in the mood to retain his relevance this year as he sets out in high spirit “Dangote”
The lyrics:
Dangote Dangote
Dangote still dey find money o
I no dey, I no dey
I no dey sleep on the money o
Who I be?
Who I be?
Wey make I no go find money o
I no dey send anybody o
Me I dey hustle gan gan
