Buhari presides over Police Council meeting in Aso Rock
The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), is currently presiding over the postponed Police Council meeting at the presidential villa, Abuja.
WUZUPNIGERIA reported that Buhari had last week ordered that the meeting be postponed to pay homage to the late Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, who died in a fatal plane crash at the Kaduna International Airport.
Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi; and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, are also in the meeting which is holding at the First Lady’s wing in the villa, according to The Nation.
Also in attendance are that Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari; ministers of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi; Interior, Ra’uf Aregbesola; Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Muhammed Bello; and the Chairman Police Service Commission, Musiliu Smith, including the acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP).
