Buhari did not order for Madagascar COVID-19 drug – Tolu Ogunlesi
Presidential aide, Tolu Ogunlesi has said that the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), did not order for the Madagascar COVID-19 drug.
Recall that the Minister of Health, Ehanire Osagie, while speaking at the daily press briefing organized by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, stated that Nigeria will be getting the drug from Madagascar.
He also pointed out that it will be subjected to analysis before it can be approved for usage in the treatment of COVID-19.
Tolu Ogunlesi who tweeted in reaction to the development stated that Nigeria did not order for the drug but is only picking up its allocation.
“Worth saying again: Nigeria did not “order” the alleged Covid-19 cure from Madagascar. We got an allocation. Many other African countries did.
“We are simply picking up our allocation. And it will be subjected to standard NAFDAC procedures. No validation no use. It’s that simple,” he tweeted.
