Buhari congratulates new President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo
President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated, two time minister, and former presidential aspirant, Chief John Nwodo on his appointment as the new President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo.
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo, umbrella body for the Igbo ethnic group in Nigeria overhauled its structure and installed a new national leadership with Nwodo as president on Tuesday for the next two years.
Reacting to the appointment, president Buhari congratulated Nwodo and the Ohaneze Ndigbo, promising to remain a committed partner to the organisation’s leadership.
“Congratulations to the eminently qualified Chief John Nwodo on his election as the President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo,” the president tweeted. “I look forward to working with the new Ohaneze Ndigbo leadership. My administration will continue to be a committed partner.”
