Brymo apologizes to Nigerian artistes for recent show of pride
Nigerian singer-songwriter, Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ, popularly called Brymo has apologized to his colleague in the Nigerian music industry for his recent display of pride.
This comes after the singer claimed that his “Yellow is the best album out of Africa in 2020, others are most hyped!!”
His tweet came moments after Davido’s ‘A Better Time’ album dropped on November 13, sparking a Twitter spat between himself and Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) signee, Peruzzi.
The tweet came at a time of dispute between three of Nigeria’s finest artist, Davido, Wizkid and BurnaBoy whose Twice as Tall album dropped in August.
Twitter went wild between October 30 and November 13 when WIzkid and Davido’s ‘Made In Lagos’ and ABT albums dropped with fans of both singers rubbishing the creative work of the other.
Brymo’s unexpectedly entered the already heated scene with his unverified claim about the Yellow album.
In a subsequent tweet, he said “No album, not one compares to “Yellow” on the continent this year… Maybe you should start separating “most hyped album” from “best album””
Days after the controversial series of tweets, the artist tendered a public apology to his colleagues in the industry on Wednesday.
“My sincere apologies to every Nigerian artiste, your efforts are part of the reasons people notice mine… I will not be here without you… I am sorry for my seeming hubris, we are together in this,” he tweeted.
