Biden healthy, fit to carry out presidential duties – White House physician

Published

President Joe Biden got a clean bill of health from the White House doctor, Kevin O’Connor, on Friday after undergoing an extensive routine check-up.

WuzupNigeria has reported how Biden transferred power to Vice President Kamala Harris as he underwent anaesthesia for a colonoscopy as part of a regular health check-up.

Biden, the oldest person to hold the presidency in US history, went to the Walter Reed Medical Center just outside of Washington early Friday on the eve of his 79th birthday.

In a statement released late Friday night by O’Connor, “The President remains a healthy, vigorous, 78-year-old male, who is fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency, to include those as Chief Executive, Head of State and Commander in Chief.”

Consequently, it is expected that Biden will take over the mantle of the leadership again from the acting president, Harris, on Saturday in continuation of his executive duties.
