Published

A Big Brother Naija (Season six) housemate, Queen Atang, says she has got more recognition and visibility after participating in the reality show in 2021 though it comes with more pressure.

In an interview with The PUNCH, she said, “BBNaija has definitely changed my life positively. I now have more recognition and visibility. However, there is now a lot more pressure, as well as expectations that one has to meet. However, it has been awesome.”

On how she handles cyber bullies, Queen said, “Trolls are always expected. Even if one tries to be perfect, there will be people that will criticise one. I already had my mind prepared for things like that. Maturity also demands that I should not respond to every word thrown at me, or react in a way that could eventually make things worse.”

Queen also admitted that it has not been easy being under the spotlight. She said, “It is really not easy being in the limelight because there are lots of expectations of one. I have tried as much as possible to avoid being too pressured. I just do what I can at a healthy pace to avoid loopholes and maintain my mental stability. If one dances to the tune of pressure, the person would definitely lose focus and at many points would keep trying to find his or her bearing.”
